Unlike a typical toddler, my parents didn’t give me any toy I wanted created out of plastic by Fisher Price, but rather they gave me the tools such as clay, paper, wood, and wire to create objects from my own imagination. Ever since I have been painting, drawing, cutting, and creating.
Throughout my education I was constantly encouraged to refine and practice my skills, which at the time was focused on the fine arts. My storybook style art caught my community’s attention, and I was generously given awards and scholarships for college.
I was accepted to Brigham Young University's prestigious Fine Art school in 2005, where only 300 applicants are accepted a year. At BYU, I specialized in Illustration and developed a great appreciation and talent for a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, pencil, chalk, photography, and graphic design. However the most notable aspect of my art was the colors I choose and my keen eye for it. Color, I’ve begin to discover, is the essence of life.
The oil paintings above are of the 2 places I was raised: Laguna Beach, the artist colony of California and Bigfork Montana, a place where the nature and big sky stretch on forever. Both places have inspired me and have shaped me into the individual I am today.
