The summer after I returned from South Africa I came across and opportunity to be an assistant costume designer on the set for the short film Cantina.
Cantina is a western themed movie, where the hero has lost faith in humanity but through a turn of events discovers the good in people.
Here I collaborated with head costume designer, Christine Haag (90210 & MadMen), and other assistant costume designers, Margret and Carrie, to carefully coordinate each characters look. After hours of searching in movie studio warehouses for the right outfits to match each characters personality, we achieved great results. (Pictured above is research and inspiration for costumes).
However our work didn't stop there. After fittings and alterations we were then on set at all times constantly doing touch-ups and adding details. It wasn't all work, however, I had a great time working with and befriending the cast and crew and we all worked well together.
Cantina will be making the rounds at the film festivals in the upcoming year so keep an eye out for it!
