Make Art Not War Gallery. June 2007

However, what touched me the most in the South Africa were the relationships I had with the people there, especially the children.

I volunteered everyday at a primary school located in South Africa’s 2nd largest township. I assisted the teachers everyday teach math and language, and play with the children. I was also allocated 30 min each day to teach the children different mediums used in art, such as chalk, watercolor, paint, etc. Here, I documented my experience with photographs, which later were selected to be displayed at BYU’s B.F. Larsen Gallery. Some of these pictures are featured below including a picture of my father and I at my gallery opening.
